Picture Day
It’s not my fault…
Picture Day makes me cringe. I have honestly never liked any of my school pictures taken after 2nd grade. Awkward stage suddenly comes to mind. It really wasn’t my fault I had like half of my teeth pulled out at one time (11!—not all permanent) because I needed braces and I didn’t have enough room. It’s also not my fault that my straight hair decided it no longer desired to be straight. It longed to be curly. Oh, the hair products I used to try and calm the sea of frizz that was my hair. It’s also not my fault that I had a matching scrunchie for almost every shirt in all different fabrics—cotton, velour, & satin. Was that the style or was I just trying to make a statement—although, I’m not sure what kind of statement that would have been. So, there I was, a teenager with braces that had colorful bands (why was that ever cool), frizzy hair, and a matching scrunchie for every day of the week smack dab in the middle of 7th grade. I was so cool. Picture day makes me cringe.

Oh my gosh, I had NO idea this would be your post, Kristin. You seem polished and smooth--always. I can't imagine your having an awkward moment.

I would absolutely love to see your pictures!! I had those scruchies also, but I also had headbands for every day of the week, but my hair wasn't even long enough at the time to be held back. Oh yes, awkward stage.

Kristin,
I used to LOVE me a scrunchie! If I didn't have it in my hair, I at least wore one on my wrist!

I remember scrunchies. And I remember frizzy hair...oh wait, still have that. What I don't get is that scrunchies ahve been out of style for some time now, yet they still make them because they are still being sold and gymnasts are still buying them to wear in the Olympics. If I get that they are out of style, people on national television should realize they are out of style as well.

I LOVED scrunchies! I had like ninety million to match all my outfits.
Another fashion faux pas from our era... the plastic round things that held your tshirts... know what I'm talking about??? Craziness!!!
I agree... I think we all need to post our old pictures!
