Things Kids Do
This is from Adam's mother, who joined us for Write Night . . .
Once, many years ago one of my children was put on a diet. We wrote down what he ate for breakfast, what he had at school for lunch, and for supper. He was doing so well! For 2 weeks we carried out this ritual. Imagine my shock when we weighed him when we saw he had gained 5 pounds. How could this be?
As I was talking to my next door neighbor about this, she hung her head and started shuffling her feet. Naturally, I was curious about her nervousness, so I questioned her about it.
Her explanation . . . "I have been feeding him at my house for he said you locked him out of the house at mealtime and he was starving!"

It's so funny how kids have a way of getting food from anybody. Whether they've eatten or not they always seem to be so hungry. And the adults always fall for it.
