Sarah 2

Pitter patter of little feet pale in
comparison to the big toothless grin
they carry. Her fat little cheeks stretched wide,
laughing as her big blue eyes stretch to the
heavens and fix on me. Her cookie filled hands
clutching at the bottom of my shorts as
she does her celebratory jog in place.
She is walking now.
Lord how I pray she never learns to run.

  • Sweet text. I think it's cool that Sariah will have this stuff when she's older. I can imagine the poems published in her yearbook or shared at her wedding rehearsal.

  • I have a little cookie monster, too, and unfortunately, she will run and climb, too--especially if the cookies on on top of the frig.
